So now the daughter is thinking of a career that requires a university we headed to an open day at the University of Hertfordshire based at Hatfield. Yes our lad is already there and for strange reason he passed up the opportunity of a free lunch ! ! ! !

We walked to East Croydon as there were no trains whatsoever through Selhurst due to Engineering works. We made with 2 minutes to spatre only to find that the 08:51 was running 5 minutes late! Still that allowed me to put into the book my first sighting of the day 9J14 Horsham to London Bridge 700138. Then in rolled our train; 9T06 Brighton to Bedford (East Croydon to St Pancras International) 700154. En route we were on the wrong side of the train to see anything in the London Bridge area properly and it was fairly busy so I never got a chance to note anything.
The wife wanted to eat so we popped into the Waitrose in Kings Cross and then headed to platform 11 for our train. 2C10 Kings Cross to Cambridge (Kings Cross to Hatfield) 700051. Shortly after we boarded 2P15 Peterborough to Kings Cross arrived with 700035 doing the honours. As we headed out of the 'Cross 91119 in it's new Intercity Swallow retro livery was preparing to leave but strapped to the front was 67022 in EWS livery.
Ferme Park didn't let me down and spotting was made easier when my train slowed through Harringay :-) Stabled were 717014, 717010, 717018 , 717020 . A swift move over to the other side of the unit as we approached Hornsey let me spot 700134, 717005, 717003 and as we were just north of Hornsey station I looked back saw 717012 heading into the yard. At Hatfield we crossed the footbridge and as luck would have it I heard the sound of a diesel engine and got my phone out quick to capture 67022 and 91119 on 1D03 Kings Cross to Leeds.
Once we had done all the Uni stuff we headed back to the station. 1T40 Kings Cross to Ely whizzed past with with 387125, 387109. Then came our train; 2C89 Cambridge to Kings Cross (Hatfield to Kings Cross) 700022 . Then as we passed the new Siemens building at Hornsey I managed to get a glimpse of 717022 and at the main Hornsey yard 700129, 700046, 700121, 700134. as we were pulling into Kings Cross the Thunderbird was 67005.
After a really nice meal a pint of Cider in the new Wetherspoons at St Pancras we headed down to the Thameslink platforms for our train home.
9O48 Sutton to St Albans City 700060 arrived just before my train; 9T45 Bedford to Brighton (St Pancras International to East Croydon) 700154 .
At City Thameslink we passed 700007 on 9V50 Sutton to St Albans City and at Blackfriars 700019 arrived on 9Y60 Sevenoaks to Blackfriars. All in all a good 'spotting' day ;-)
