Warrington Wife Collector Trip: 09th March 2019

As you maybe aware the wife has been in Scotland since Tuesday for work. Rather than fly she preferred the train. So Saturday she came back on the 08:40 train off Glasgow Central. So I worked out I could get I a bit of spotting/photographing before her train arrived.
Bold = Haulage, Red = Winner, All others are sightings.

Up very early and on 2B03 Selhurst to Victoria 455829, 455807 (9m 31ch). Being a bit dark there was no spots done on the way or at Victoria. The Victoria threw up 11008 to take me to Euston.

I headed down for a look at the platforms.

1S42 0730 London Euston to Glasgow Central (Euston to Warrington Bank Quay) 390042 (181m 11ch).

As 390042 took me North at Primrose Hill 1B02 0545 Wolverhampton to London Euston 390124 headed into town. At Willesden two of the unused Class 710s sat by the shed - 710261, 710262. Then in Wembley yards were 66563, 70006, 66107, 66085. I managed a glimpse of 1M16 2045 Inverness, Aberdeen and Fort William to London Euston 90041 [Consist: 9810, 6706, 10650, 10542, 10600, 10502, 10718, 9808, 6704, 10706, 10526, 10675, 10565, 10504] Sleeper consists thanks to JTC on the SE-Gen lists.

We were motoring along by Milton Keynes but managed to see 66568 4L52 Garston F.L.T. to London Gateway Frghtliner. Rugby had only two items of interest in the shape of Thunderbird 57304 and 86259 then North of Rugby 6D30 0552 Mountsorrel Sdgs to Northampton Castle Yard 66015 passed me.

Rugeley Trent Valley station had 170502 on 2A54 0842 Rugeley Trent Valley to Birmingham New Street. Just outside Stafford I managed to see 6M90 0356 Avonmouth Hanson Sdg Gbrf to Clitheroe Castle Cement Gb 66772. Little did I know this would turn up again later.

We slowed a bit at Crewe but were still five minutes early :-) Noted in the yards and LNWR shed area were: 66542, 2x COLAS 56s, a yellow class 31 (still UID), 66539, 710103, 397003, 92020. At the Heritage Centre 87035 sat with the APT. I think there is a class 37 there too but I am not 100% sure. On the approaches to Warrington Bank Quay was a yard (right hand side facing direction of travel) with a fair few wagons in it and 66171, 66091, 66206.

Warrington Bank Quay (0911 - 11:22).
I was finally here and I only had a couple of hours until my wife's train came in so I made the most of it. Before I post all the trains I saw can I say the staff left me alone (as a spotter and with a camera) and were quite friendly when I spoke to them. Also it was windy ... VERY windy!

Apart from 175011 everything at Warrington got photographed :-)
In the Warrington yard was 66128 and 66171.

Next up Crewe.
Noted were 66187 working 6M13 0122 Dollands Moor Sdgs to Ditton Foundry Ln(Ahc-ews). In Crewe station was 350101 which I suspect was working 1U30 1202 Crewe to London Euston.
In the yards and LNWR were: 56049, 56096, 56105, 56113, 68019, 68031, 397003, 710103, 70018, 66549.

Nothing was noted until Milton Keynes area 1Y34 1114 Birmingham New Street to London Euston 350375.
Kings Langley area 66001 was heading south as a light loco.
Wembley Central area 350107 as on 2Y68 1054 Birmingham New Street to London Euston.
In Wembley yards were: 66041 66017.

From Euston to Victoria 11043 provided the traction and then after a Wetherspoons lunch we caught 2B72 Victoria to Epsom Downs (Victoria to Selhurst) 455829, 455807 (9m 31ch).
All in all a good little trip out but best because the wife brought me back a nice 15 year old GLENGOYNE Whiskey. And I am enjoying it.
