The Gospel Oak to Barking line (aka GOBLIN line) is one of this lines that I've not really often travelled on. In fact before now almost every time I've gone to get it something got in the way.
In BR days when 1st generation DMUs ruled the roost, it was uncool, and when I did head that way a signal and points failure saw me go elsewhere. A few years ago when the class 172s worked the line I did manage to go on it but not all the way. Just from Barking a few stops then back again as I was meeting a friend and any further along the line and I'd have not made it in time.
So now the spanking new class 710s are fully entrenched on the line. Plans were made to go on the 6th December. I was supposed to meet up and drive over to Marks Tey and test my new camera microphone and do a bit of video (Thursday 21st November 2019). Sinusitis put pay to that and hence the lack of posts this week (normal service will resume soon). Wrapped up warmly I headed off.

It was at this point I noticed a 3Z03 on Traksy Thinking it was a Rail Head Treatment Train (RHTT) so I was prepared to see a couple of locos. As we crept to the junction I saw it was in fact a class 710 on driver training but I couldn't get the unit ID. A frantic look on Real Time Trains revealed that I could get the ID once it passed Gospel Oak just after 13:00.

Stood on the platform I saw the 710 approaching from the opposite direction but the overbridge just west of the station had a RHTT passed over (also to note, this bridge reveals a lot of 315s but you cannot get the numbers :-( )
