Another Saturday and I wanted to get out an about but not too far. I made a loose plan to maybe tick off a few 700/0s on the SouthEastern network. But (there is always a but) none of the ones I wanted to tick off were south of the river or in service but I was on route and devised a plan B while on route.
2O13 Selhurst to East Croydon 377706 non winners [0m 77ch].
followed by
9R12 East Croydon to London Brdge 700002 non winner [10m 14ch].
So where to go to first?
On the train up to London Bridge I looked to see what the first train out was and what units were working it.
2N03 London Bridge to Dartford 707025, 707005 non winner and winner [15m 13ch].
First train and a winner as well. It started well. Looking at the trains at Dartford I wanted to not only get new trains if possible but also higher mileage. I had already ticked off the lines previously. Looking there was nothing 'new' unit wise to be gained but I fancied some food to keep me going. So off to Gravesend. I have not been there since the 27th June 1987 for the Gravesend Edwardian Festival. Back then they had a class 47 (47638) and the Network Southeast Liveried 97800 IVOR (a class 08 in reality).
1N32 Dartford to Gravesend 376005, 376008 non winners [6m 63ch].
There has been a LOT of change at Gravesend station but in the ticket hall there is a plaque comemerating the 1987 Edwardian Festival. A Walk into town I was able to get something to eat before heading to the station.
1D54 Gravesend to London Bridge 707030, 707019 winners [21m 76ch].
While heading back to London I looked up what I could get next. A trip on a pair of 465s were a good option.
465047, 465034 Non winner, Winner [12m 31ch].
It's been a very long time since I've been to Hayes. Opposite the station used to be a Harvester which the wife and I used to go to but always by bus. I had only travelled along the line once before but I cannot remember why. Hayes is the terminus comprised oa an island platform that is in in use on both sides.
1K62 Hayes (Kent) to London Bridge 376005, 376008 [12m 31ch].
The station is one I want to go back to just to take a few photos of it at sometime in the future.
A quick switch of platforms for the next train.
1V62 London Bridge to Hayes (Kent) 376009, 376002 Non winner and Winner [12m 31ch].
Back down the Hayes line. and another quick switch back.
707022, 707006 non winners [12m 31ch].
On the way back up to London Bridge I looked for something I needed unit wise and settled on a 465 move to Datford.
2L41 London Bridge to Dartford 466011, 465015, 465154 466 non winner and both 465s winners [17m 02ch].
By the time I got there the tempreture had dropped and sky had got very overcast and suspicously looked like it was abotu to dump a lot of rain on south east London. Do I do another run to London Bridge then find another Southeastern train to ride or something else. Looking at Real Time Trains I saw a Victoria train at Dartford and one unit was one I needed.
2U52 Dartford to Victoria 465014, 465033 [18m 66ch].
As I left Dartford the rain started and I was glad I took ths train rather than another and ending up on another train back in to the rainy area.
2B88 Victoria to Selhurst 377158, 377201 [9m 31ch].
