North Wales Day 2: 21st April 2026

Intro: Last year (2025) we travelled down to South Wales and had our Short break based in Swansea but also travelled to Barry Island, Tenby, Carmarthen and then the Heart Of Wales line an additional stay in Shrewsbury. This year we decided to do the North of Wales. These reports will not just be about the railway trips but will include some of the things we did and ate.

197005 arrives in to Llandudno and will form 1D14 Llandudno to Blaenau Ffestiniog Not such an early start today. Our plan was to travel the Conwy Valley Line as far as Betws-y-Coed. So it was up and get ready and head to The Palladium for Breakfast. Then walk up to the station. Once there we saw our train was to depart platform 1 and we had enough time for me to walk up the platforms to get some photos of the signals and signal box. Then the unit that was forming my train arrived at the station so I hot footed it to meet up with the wife and get ready for our journey.

The journey down was lovely. Rolling green hills and flowing rivers are wonderful to behold. Once there we managed to fit a lot in.

Before heading back to Llandudno.

We were all ontime until the approach to Llandudno Junction when for some reason we ended up 13 late in to Llandudno.
