Our last day in the lovely seaside town of Llandudno. We decided to pay for a late check out as we wanted to do a few things before heading back to London.
First up was breakfast in the Palladium then the wife wanted to take a walk along to a couple o shops. One of which was the sop of the Penderyn distillery which was lovely. We would loved to have taken the tour bt as it was a last minute idea for a visit it was booked up. The only tour available was a lot later in the day.
Next was the Llandudno Museum. It is a small one not far from our hotel and the main reason for going was there was a Rail 200 exhibition on. The exhibition was at the top of the building and was just the one room but it did have a lot of stuff in there.
The wife had gone to a couple of shops while I visited the museum so when I left we met up and went to get a few other things before grabbing lunch. KFC was what we chose. Lord knows why!
After eating and heading back to the hotel to get our bag we walked up to the station. We were aiming for the train Llandudno Junction so we only had a few minutes before our train to London but we were there a lot earlier so caught the 14:12.

My first intention was to take a few photos of the station but we headed over the road to the Old Station Hotel over the road for a sit in the sun and a nice cold cider. And why not?
The bar area is festooned with railwayana from various eras. Not all being from the right railway companies of the area like the LMS and BR (LM). I did spy a fww "Flying Scotsman" things!
Left the pub in time to wander slowly over to the station, grab a few photos and wait for out train. Something made me check the Twitter (yes I know they call it X now!) and it showed that the lines between Milton Keynes Central and Watford Junction were closed. NOOOOO! Our train arrived in and the PIS displayed that the train was going to terminate at Crewe.

The brain kicked in on the train and I planned that we could get a train to Derby then down from there to St. Pancras. Yes it would take a fair bit longer but it was also a slightly less hassle than getting on a Euston bound train and getting stuck for hours.
The wife was on her phone and we packed trains and longer journey's were not the best idea. So for £40 we managed to get a Travelodge just a 25 minute walk away. And luckily there was a pub opposite it called
After a meal and a drink we had a walk around and realised there was a Greggs in the petrol station nearby so that was breakfast sorted. An early night was on the cards and that's what we did.
