Over The Top

This is another one of those trips that is a line I've wanted to do for decades but I've just sat on my backside. Welcome to the Tyne Valley line. The line stretches for 61m 54ch across the top of the country from Carlisle to Newcastle via Hexham.

So here we go again to Carlisle and we start our trip using 1S42 Eustorn to Glasgow or even 1S45 08:30 Euston to Glasgow Central.
1S42 gets in in 10:49
1S45 gets in at 11:54 which whilst it is possible isn't really fesible for anything other than getting a train direct to Newcastle and not be able to stop off en route, which would be nice.
As previously mentioned in the plan Buzzing Around St. Bees, I like a decent time between trains. These are the following trains I could get.

1N62 would be a bit of a rush so I'd probably go for 2A30 which would give me a bit of time at Carlisle to with get food, have a bit of a 'spot' and photo session. before travelling to Hexham. Now I could go on to Newcastle or I could stop there for a little while.
I'll probably alight at Hexham. Mainly because I want to have a bit of a look at the station and take some photos for the station starting with the letter 'H'.

I'd be most likely to catch 2A32 at 13:19 which would get me in with time to spend at Newcastle for a while.

Newcastle almost always is a good place to get a few sightings and photos so it lends itself to a choice of trains back to London.

1E85 is the Lumo service and will probably be my first choice, especially if it is one that I need.

Well that's the West to East. There is a East to West version too. My issue with it is that there is less choice of trains from Hexham to Carlisle as they tend to only be only from Newcastle. Hexham to Newcastle also have the services to other destinations. If anyone is interested in the East to West option I can ass it to here.
Personally I'll go for the first version of the trip.
