Class 755 - Greater Anglia units.

Once at Norwich we decided to Great Yarmouth and that allowed us to sample the class 755. We manged the 10:24 which was non-stop (bonus!).

Essentially the same stock just had a whacking great Diesel motor vehicle with a Power Pack vehicle which is essentially a whacking great diesel engine in the unit. so everything for the 745 pretty much covers the 755. However.

The one we travelled on went via the Berney Arms route (winner for me ;) ) and the ride was to be honest shocking at times. Now I understand that the track isn't the best but it was a rough ride for quite long periods. We had sat in the end coach on the way to Great Yarmouth but on the way back we sat in the carriage with the accessible toilet. One table and two sets of airline seats with the disabled/pram area in front. It really was quite a step up to the seating and an older person or small child may not realise and could take a tumble off of it.

The route back was a lot smoother ride which really makes me thing the rough ride was due to the track.

How would I rate my (and the wife's) class 745 experience:

Again we enjoyed it.

I have done a class 720 on my own on GA but that was only between Stratford to Liverpool Street so I can't really make too much about it. I think that the test will be if her and I do a trip out to Southend or somewhere similar. 755406 at Great Yarmouth755406 sitting at Great Yarmouth
