2024 Summary
Here's my summary of my trips in 2024. The chart shows month by months of the miles covered.
January was quite quiet on the travel front intially until I arrange to meet up with my mate Peter for a trip. I I covered the Hournslow loop but I was missing before meeting up with his for a trip on one of the inaugral services of the new South Western Railways class 701 from Waterloo to Richmond. Fron there we ventured to Gospel Oak and all the way over to Narking Riverside.
February was another quiet one with me gaining only the Bookham line as a new line. Also a trip to Lincoln. Time was not on my wide and other things cropped up to get in the way of trips.
March started very will with a day trip to Stourbroidge. Soem new lines including the shuttle (I love the cl.139s) and also clearing the 168s for sight. The end of March I managed to get up to Nottingham and clear the Tram network.
From May onwards our year, as a family, went to the dogs. Major health issues for some family members caused me to cancel almost all railway related trips. No trips causes a very low motivation and I almost became resentful of railways. It wasn't until November that I went out again but even then I wasn't enjoying it. Not until visiting the Lymington Line. It reignited an interest but as I said in my Lynington trip report it will take a few more trips and the New Year to get back on track (pardon the pun).
December I managed a couple of trips out including a trip from Euston to Swansea.

So what of my 2025 plans?
Firstly to do the Heart of Wales line the was originally planned in for October 2024 but again it was put on hold due to the family health issues. It'll be a fine four day trip with Mrs. TnT and a couple hotel nights.
I have the following trips planned but without any dates in mind:
- MerseyRail (Possibly two trips)
- Over the Top (Carlisle to Newcastle)
- Exmouth Line
- Two other GWR Branches
- Northumberland Line
- To get close to 2023s mileage total
- Finally tick off Georgemas Junction to Wick (a remote chance of this one)
- Bidston Line
- Maybe a class 67
- Maybe a Sleeper
- A new heritage railway
- A narrow gauge railway
